GRAND PRIZE RAFFLE – Win an original painting by American Folk Artist Bonny Rochester – Valued at $5,000.

The Harvest Festival Grand Prize Drawing this year will feature an original work of art by Bonny Rochester. One very lucky individual will receive a one of a kind painting (not a lithograph) done by Bonny specifically for the Grand Prize Drawing.  Sign up on-site at one of the nine Harvest Festivals to win. Bonny Rochester; American Folk Artist

American artist Bonny Rochester paints with positive inspiration. In 1990 she began to paint after the birth of her fourth child.  Bonny has limited edition lithograph prints made of her original paintings.

Never formally trained Bonny’s art is American folk art. Each piece tells a story and is inspired by life around her and the people she meets. She’s always working on something and people love to watch her paint at the Harvest Festival shows. According to Bonny “My life has been so enriched by the people I meet showing my art. I never planned to be an artist - it just happened. I know God gives us the equipment we need to survive.  I was able to be with my children. Jesse & Co.

Jesse & Co. founders Felice Jacobson and Kathy Wright created their company to give both men and women an opportunity to purchase a variety of hand made leather accessories that are environmentally friendly. They use reclaimed leather for the belts, wallets, and purses as well as using 60% recycled lead free metal for their jewelry, buckles and trims.

For their jewelry Felice and Kathy begin by handcrafting the original sample of each style of jewelry in either lead free pewter or clay. Then they carve a silicone mold in which the original is placed and cure it with heat –once hardened, they are able to cast their designs from the mold. Oxidizing and polishing finishes off pieces.

Jesse & Co. will be showing in the Del Mar and San Mateo Harvest Festivals.

Tierra Verde Soy Candle Co.

Our business began with an idea that we could create a profitable "green" business that added to the quality of peoples lives and offered a product that we enjoyed using and making. My partner in the business is my brother Bill who was willing to take a risk and trust that together we could build a business that is meaningful for both of us and added to the good of the planet.



I had become unemployed a year earlier as the company I was working for downsized and I was having no success in finding a new job. It was then that Bill said "let’s start a candle business". Coming from a sales and marketing background, I understood that if we enter the market, we need to be very different from our competitors in all areas; container, wax type, wick and fragrances. It was after a year of research that we found the perfect combinations. Our container is made from beautiful alabaster recycled glass and available in an assortment of colors. The container can be refilled and used over and over again. Bill worked diligently to find the perfect soy wax and wick combinations that are earth friendly and had no paraffin or lead. We tested many, many fragrance profiles on family and friends in order to create our signature scents. After selecting the fragrances, we again tested for how they smell when cold, when burning and how long do they burn.

We had created for a special cover for our candle, it is hand made from recycled paper, infused with wild flower seeds and once it is taken off, it can be planted for a spring surprise.

Out of these ideas and work came Tierra Verde Soy Candle Company. Tierra Verde means "Green Earth" and our customers have come to understand and appreciate that when they invest in a candle from Tierra Verde they are doing something that brings pleasure for them and are "making a difference for he planet".

We believe in recycle, reuse and renew and doing what is good for the planet. We have incorporated all of these values in the making of Tierra Verde Soy Candles and pass them along to all our customers.

Tierra Verde Soy Candle will be showing in the San Mateo, Sacramento, San Jose and Pomona Harvest Festivals.
