Black Friday shoppers looking for those unique gifts, have the chance to forgo
the big box stores and support independent artists and craftspeople by visiting
the San Jose Harvest Festival, happening November 29 - December 1 at the San
Jose Convention Center. Adding to the entertainment this year is crowd favorite
The Cash Tribute Band, featuring James Garner, playing the hits of the "Man in Black"
— Johnny Cash and kids of all ages can enjoy Scott Land, an expert marionette performer most known for his work on the film Team America: World Police.
There will also be the lovable strolling performers like Mama Claus & Eddie the Elf
and and Fables of the West, plus a new strolling group - Le Jazz Hot who you'll
see in the aisles serenading shoppers. And of course there will be the
yearly appearance of the Sweet Adelines on Saturday afternoon.
The whole family will enjoy the interactive KidZone, where children participate in hands-on crafts like gingerbread
cookie decorating from Gingerbread-on-the-go
and Nature of Art for Kids
, a company offering non toxic and eco friendly art
supplies for hands-on art activities.
The San Jose Harvest Festival® is pleased to welcome back Humane Society Silicon Valley as the official show charity.
Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) is an independent, non-profit animal shelter that has been serving people and pets for 80 years, offering quality adoptions, affordable spaying and neutering, and educational programs. HSSV will receive half the proceeds from shopping bag sales and all the proceeds from the bag and parcel check, as well as direct donations and a free space at the show to help raise awareness.
Artists will be demonstrating the making of their crafts during the festival.
